Bishop England watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 7-4 loss to Benedictine on Saturday. Benedictine scored on a home run by Holton in the first inning, a double by Cowan in the first inning, a single by Thomas in the second inning, and a single by McCoy in the second inning.
In the first inning, Benedictine got their offense started. Holton hit a solo homer.
Benedictine scored four runs in the second inning. Thomas, McCoy, and Walker each had RBIs in the frame.
Markiton took the win for the Cadets. Floyd and Thomas entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
SEAN HOLLISTER took the loss for Bishop England. The pitcher lasted two innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out three.
ELLIOTT SANDERS led BE with two hits in two at bats.
McCoy went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Benedictine in hits. Benedictine didn’t commit a single error in the field. McCoy had five chances in the field, the most on the team.
